Ranjit Kandalgaonkar (b.1976) art practice primarily comprises a lens directed at the urban context of cities. Most of the projects are research-intensive - their nature varied and seek unique opportunities to rethink and challenge conventional modes of research to possibly offer new modes of dissemination. His awards and fellowships include, Majlis Visual Arts fellowship, UDRI Architectural fellowship, The Leverhulme Trust Artist in Residence, The Wellcome Trust Seed award, SAI Harvard University Artist Residency and the Gasworks residency in collaboration with Wellcome Collection. His works have been exhibited at Warehouse42, Abu Dhabi, 2020; Colomboscope, Colombo, 2019; The Wellcome Collection, London, 2017; Melahuset/OCA, Oslo, 2017; Bergen Assembly Art and Research Triennale, Bergen, Norway, 2016; MS.Archives and BNHS Library, Mumbai, 2015 and UCL-Cities Methodologies, London, 2014. He lives and works in Mumbai.
